Administration / Projects

What is a project?

A Project is one type of publication being produced by priint:cloud rendering service. A tenant (customer) can have one or more projects, for example a datasheet or a postcard.

A project can be administrated by a user with tenant admin privileges.

There is also the distinction between a project manager and a project user. A project user can upload new revisions and publish to the staging environment, while a project manager additionally can configure the service integrations and deploy to the production environment.

Creating a new project

Using the + PROJECT button in the top left opens a wizard interface to create a new tenant and assign a user as project manager or user.

In the first step you need to define a project type. This is a template that is used for the initial setup of your project.

  • None will create an empty project.

Next you have to select the tenant you want to add the project to. This is important when you work with multiple tenants as a group administrator.

Then you have to enter project id and a display name. The display name can be freely selected and can contain special characters. The project id is limited and usually has the form of the URL of the customer's primary domain (e.g. priint.com). Finally, you can enter a project description. Pressing the CREATE button will perform the creation of the project.

The next step will allow you to assign a user from the group as project manager or member, optionally.

info

You can administrate all projects from your group administrator or tenant as well. The assignment of a project manager or member is only needed if that person is not a tenant or group administrator.
