Font Handling

To use fonts in your PDF project the renderer must find the associated TTF or OTF files somewhere in the system.

You have two choices

• Use a standard font preinstalled fonts on the container image that runs comet_pdf (this is discouraged except for first tests)
• Add your own custom fonts to the comet_xml project

Add Fonts to the comet_xml Project

The recommended way to use fonts is to add the TTF or OTF files into the comet_xml project in a sub folder named /fonts. So a typical project may look like:

Fonts are only visible to the comet_pdf process handling the specific tenant and project. So it is safe to add commercial fonts where you have bought a license.

Preinstalled Fonts

The following default fonts are available on Linux containers running comet_pdf. The fonts are mainly exist to ensure that comet_pdf works correctly.

This list of fonts may change in the future – either adding further default fonts or removing or replacing existing fonts. Do not rely on these fonts for production. Instead, add font files in ttf or otf format into the /fonts folder of your project.

If you start off a new project you may just choose one of the good old Microsoft fonts like Arial, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Time New Roman, Trebuchet MS, Verdana and Webdings.
